Trici the Guide Part II (Grand Bazaar and Han District)

Outer wall of the Hippodrome

Wall used to abut the sea

Trici's stamina is astounding...especially when she tells us she smoked 3-5 packs of cigarettes a day for years

Entrance to Grand Bazaar

Trici took us to shopkeepers that she knew and admired.  She liked ones that helped women's causes.  This guy is "Momo."  He's from Kyrgyzstan.

I bought a hat (not this one). Kevin wanted Andrew to get this one.

She takes us to parts of the Bazaar we never would have found on our own, and tourists just would never find.  This guy was selling metal tops of mosque spires.

Colors everywhere were eye-popping

I need these in my basement

Famous cat in shop of guy who did wardrobe for movie "Troy" with Brad Pitt

Back on the streets

Guys delivering goods up the steep, cobblestone hills must be strong

Entering a "Han"," which is an ancient business/workshop district

Back alleys we never would have found on our own

Craftsmen making candlesticks in same spot for hundreds of years. Trici says these may be fifth generation tradesmen

Dark alleys open up to amazing rooftop views

Up to places no tourists go

Bam! At the top were hit with this vista

We wanted to spend more time hanging out here, but Trici-the-Robot had much more on the agenda...
