Sunny Beach - Uhn Tiss, Uhn Tiss

Across the bay from Old Town Nessebar is Sunny Beach.  Sunny Beach is the Fort Lauderdale of Bulgaria.  Its twin sister, where we swam/stayed the day before, is the equivalent of Del Boca Vista.

Clubs pumping out base-thumping Euro music (which we heard 'till 5am), parasailing & yellow banana rides, umbrella drinks, and young fit people smoking cigarettes and drinking Nescafé kept us in a head-bobbing trance for hours. Not in control of ourselves, we helplessly laid back and nuzzled in the dual pleasures of sea and sand.

This is the first club you see as you drive up to the beach:

Kevin zoned out to the hypnotic techno-beat...

Dobra-Dan decided he didn't need sunblock...

Double D's (Dobra-Dan) noticed the drinks we ordered were the colors of the Bulgarian flag (composition by Andrew Liebowitz)...

On the left was a "Backed Potato" stand...

Bulgarian men enjoy doing something we dubbed the "Starfish Pose."

Andrew noticed that his red daiquiri didn't have an umbrella. Then he said it was topless. We all laughed for some reason.

It seemed most of the people there were Bulgarians (perhaps Russians, but we're not sure we can hear the difference between the languages).

Fear of being caught rhythmically nodding whilst over-imbibing on mother's milk and soiling ourselves like a suckling infant suddenly became all too real. We just barely made it to the car, leaving Sunny Beach for Plovdiv through the two mountain ranges cradling us like giant pillows.
